Aperto® Networks? PacketWave® system gives service providers a fully-integrated service intelligent platform for building high-density broadband wireless networks for personalised service delivery. The system supports a wide range of applications including Wireless Internet Service Provision, multiple node video surveillance links and multiple building enterprise connections for very large networks. The PacketWave® 1000 unit is ideal for delivering services to large numbers of subscribers, in areas where foliage and buildings can make line-of-sight access a problem.
The Aperto PacketWave® 1000 base station supports four-sector or six-sector cells. It consists of a 3U, 19-inch rack mountable, stackable indoor unit (IDU) with a standard configuration providing four or six wireless interface ports and a 100Base-T Fast Ethernet interface for aggregation and backhaul. Wireless interface ports connect to up to six outdoor units "PacketWave® 5800" (ODU) base station radios and mast mounted sector antennas. The system is available using the new UK 5.8GHz band C.
Aperto?s WaveCenter is a suite of subscriber management and element management tools which is used to provide sophisticated Quality of Service provision. It allows the operator to have full control over the network resources and to assign individual customers to receive a defined class of service. It also provides a web-based graphical user interface, comprehensive SNMP support and Java-based configuration manager.
The PW1000 can be used with the PW100 or PW200 series of Subscriber Units used as Customer Premise Equipment.
Features
- Burst rates of up to 20 Mbps raw data rate over narrow 6 MHz channels - 14Mb/s net/channel
- Constant Bit Rate (CBR) priority data flow - enables real time video or voice services with defined low-latency
- Highly efficient RapidBurst technology which dynamically adjusts time slots & packet sizes
- High performing, Non-line of sight connections with OptimaLink® technology
- Multiservice ServiceQ® technology allows service providers to set up different service classes for each subscriber on a per-application basis (multiple service flows per CPE)
- Per Flow Queuing enables separate buffering of voice and data, so that voice packets are have priority
- Multi-level password protection with signal scrambling & up to 168 bit DES Encryption
- Weighted Fair Queuing enables the system to provide minimum rate guarantees for business
- Unsolicited Grant Service: Enables the system to provide low jitter and latency service for voice or real time video.
- NAT/PPPoE support on subscriber units conserves the number of public IP addresses
- Support of multiple networks with RIPv2 routing capabilities.
- VLAN support provided with multiple tag modes
PacketWave® products offer high interference immunity using Aperto?s OptimaLink® technology. OptimaLink dynamically changes several radio and network parameters on a burst-by-burst basis. This provides a spectrally efficient link, yet robust enough to handle a wide variety of interference conditions or non Line of Sight conditions.
