The Aperto® Networks? PacketWave® system gives service providers a fully integrated, service-intelligent, entry-level platform for building low density broadband wireless networks for personalised service delivery. The point to multi-point products support a wide range of applications including Wireless Internet Service Provision, multiple node video surveillance links and multiple building enterprise connections. The PacketWave® 760 unit is ideal for delivering services to multiple subscribers, in areas where foliage and buildings can make line-of-sight access a problem.

PacketWave® 760 Series Base Station and Customer Premise Equipment offer a very competitive and simple to use system for distributing data, voice and video links between multiple points. It consists of a 1U, 19-inch rack mountable unit (IDU) with a single wireless interface port. The system is available using the new UK 5.8GHz band C.

The PacketWave® 760 is a stackable single-sector base station that offers highly flexible configurations, allowing service providers to quickly and easily deploy multi-service broadband wireless networks in multi-cell, multi-sector topologies. The PW760 can support over a thousand users governed by software licenses to provide cost effective options for smaller networks.

Aperto?s WaveCenter is a suite of subscriber management and element management tools which may be used with the PW760 for sophisticated Quality of Service provision. It allows the operator to have full control over the network resources and to assign individual customers to receive a defined class of service. It also provides a web-based graphical user interface, comprehensive SNMP support and Java-based configuration manager.

The PW760 supports the PW100 or PW200 series of Subscriber Units used as Customer Premise Equipment.

PacketWave® products provide extremely reliable and high quality wireless links in real world environments by offering high interference immunity through Aperto?s OptimaLink® technology. OptimaLink dynamically changes up to 10 wireless and network parameters on a burst-by-burst basis. This provides a spectrally efficient link that is robust enough to handle a wide variety of radio interference or non Line of Sight conditions.
